FOOD... really?
When our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate the food they had collected it was a very different meal than what we eat today. Over many centuries, our bodies developed so that they would accumulate fat easily in order to make it through times of famine, but today most of us have no idea what a famine is. All we are aware of is a constant supply of food of some kind, and this constant feasting adds up to a lot of extra body fat.

The foods of our ancient ancestors had very high in nutrition and very low calories, quite the opposite from what is put in the mouths of people today. Many people are overfed and yet they are actually starving to death, accumulating fat and pollutants, and causing their systems to shut down becoming subject to chronic disease.

Another thing our ancient ancestors did was exercise. Modern culture spends almost its entire life indoors sitting instead of walking, and we have no idea where our food comes from, let alone gathering it.

We consume foods that are making us addicted to further consumption of the fake foods. For example, monosodium glutamate (commonly known as MSG) is an excitotoxin. Every time you eat it it gives your brain the equivalent of a shot of morphine It's actually the perfect obesity drug, commonly used in the laboratory to fatten mice for scientific study.

Another interesting excitotoxin is the sweetener aspartame (notably also a GMO item). When this sweetener is combined with caffeine as it is in many diet drinks, it leaves you with a bit of a buzz. You won't lose any weight because it leaves your body craving for the real carbohydrates that it needs to survive. Perhaps one advantage however to aspartame use, is that it forms formaldehyde in your brain, therefore, when you die you are already partially preserved.

I have to ask the question: Do you have any idea how much GMO food you are eating? Not difficult to find out from the US Department of Agriculture. Current statistics show that 88% of all corn, 94% of all soy grown in the US, and 90% of all canola oil are genetically modified products that are combined in almost every processed food you slide past the checkout counter in the food market. The only exceptions would be to products that bear a “USDA Organic” label, and those are few and far between. Also look for the PLU code printed on stickers for conventionally grown fruit, (grown with chemicals and inputs), consists of four numbers. Organically grown fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 9. Genetically engineered (GM) fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 8. For example:
A conventionally grown apple would be: 4011
An organic apple would have:  94011
A genetically engineered (GE or GMO) apple would read: 84011

So why should I be concerned you might ask? You might consider the massive increase in allergies to corn and soy products that is occurring. When the human body has allergic reaction to something it is always to a foreign protein substance. The GMO factors in the food are being recognized by the human body as foreign and toxic. The reactions are to the built-in pesticides in the food, to the flavoring factors in the food, and to the preservative factors in the food. The chemical companies have lied to us, all of their built-in toxins are residual in the food and the environment.

What can I do, should be the next question you ask. Do some research, become informed. The most widely used GM crops are called Roundup ready. Be aware that Roundup is a deadly toxin, that remains in the food and in the environment. It is the most commonly used weed killer on the market. Don't use Roundup! (The chemical name you're looking for is glyphosate). The next thing to do is buy organic foods, or carefully grow them yourself.

What more can be done to keep ourselves healthy? Take a good look at the supplements highlighted in our left side column, and if you have any questions about how they can help you personally, feel free to contact me. And then it may not seem easy, with most of our lifestyles, but we need to increase our exercise. First of all, get up, stand up, and move around. If you really want to make a difference, simply walking a half a mile or more every day can greatly improve your health. Drink plenty of fresh clean water. Sleep 8 to 9 hours at night in the dark. Relieve your stress instead of internalizing it; try smiling, laughing, and playing with a child or a pet.
